So I missed out on a strawberry sundae at the ekka the other day so we had to go back… Ruby ended up winning a giant penguin (well compared to her). I love how she is trying to haul her winnings home but it’s almost bigger than her and she awkwardly has to lug it around.

Fellow penguin lover on this morning’s flight to California!

Imagine my surprise when I see this little girl wearing a pink penguin backpack walking around Cheongpyeongsa Temple in South Korea. Somehow I communicated to her parents that I wanted to take her picture by pointing to my signature penguin bag and holding my camera. You always have to be prepared!

Obviously, I didn’t know how to say “so I have this penguin blog” in Korean and my official translator/tour guide boyfriend Steve didn’t either. But, he got a good laugh from my initial reaction “Oh my god, is that a pink penguin!” - and he knew I had to document the cuteness.

So how perfect is this guy I flew 7,000 miles (18 hrs) to see? Well, he helped photograph my new penguin socks and drew this adorable penguin for me. So perfect.
