Meet Pink Dot, one of the four chinstraps that hatched at the Central Park Zoo this year.

Two fluffy emperor penguin chicks cuddle up, one putting its flipper around its companion. The chicks are beefing up ahead of moulting season when they can lose up to 30 per cent of their body weight. During this period they lose their fluffy feathers and grow swimming feathers. Photographer David Schultz travelled to Antarctica on an ice breaker and a helicopter to capture the photograph.
